SPANISH REBEL TELLS OF PLANS FOR REVOLT.

(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, December 31

The “Daily Express” publishes a message smuggled from a prison near Madrid from Senor Zamora, leader of the Republicans, detailing the elaborate preparations which were made before the revolt towards the establishment of a republic. He himself would have been the first president. He points out that the people were forced to adopt revolutionary methods because the monarchy showed itself directly culpable for the shameful oppression imposed by the dictatorship under which it sheltered, thus opposing the real Constitution. The monarchy deserved to fall and it would fall. Senor Zamora affirms that the plot failed because the Jaca enthusiasts took action precipitately three days before the call. Coalition Suggested. MADRID, December 31. The Liberal leader, Count Romanones, in an interview with King Alfonso, advised his Majesty to constitute a constitutional coalition Government to take over control until the passions of the people had subsided. General Berenguer, President of the Council, in an interview with the Press, reiterated his intention of holding an election in March. Count Romanones replied advising the Liberals to ignore General Berenguer as being quite unsuited to the preparation of a general election.
