MAYOR’S COMMENT ON TRAMWAY ELECTION.
WAS DISAPPOINTED BUT NOT SURPRISED. Brief comment only was made by the Mayor, the. Rev Js K. Archer, to-day, when asked if he wished to say anything regarding the result of the Tramway Board election held j*esterday. “As a Labour man,” he said, “I am somewhat disappointed with the result, but I am not altogether surprised. I think that one or two of the elected members can regard themselves as particularly fortunate that they were the nominees of the Citizens’ Association.” (Election results appear on Page 11).
