RANGIORA COURT DEALS WITH CIVIL CASES.
By-Law and civil cases were dealt with by Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., at Rangiora to-day. Stanley Quick, who pleaded guilty to a charge of permitting two horses to wander at large on the RangioraLoburn Road, was fined 20s and costs (£1 10s). Reserved decision was given in the claim by A. W. Amor against M. S. Bower, for £95 16s 8d for the threshing of crops, and in a counter-claim by defendant for £2BB 15s as damages through failure to fulfil the terms of a contract to thresh linseed. Judgment was given for plaintiff for the full amount claimed, and for defendant for £B2 Is 3d on his counterclaim. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following undefended civil cases: Kinley and Fraser v. Stewart Barr, £4; same v. J. W. 11. Jackson, £6 16s sd; Hawkins, Ltd., v. W. Davidson. £23 10s lOd. . On a judgment summons Te M. Rangi was ordered to pay J. M’Millan £4 16s lOd forthwith, in default four days’ imprisonment.
