Port Delays.
To the Editor. Dear Sir, —Whatever the Harbour Board may say about the handling of cargo and passengers at Lyttelton, everybody knows that the position is unsatisfactory tnd delays occur. There has been an improvement in the ferry service of late, but when you consider the time taken in getting to Christchurch it does not argue well f or a continuance of the railway system. Supporters of a tunnel road should isvcke a point of the fact that a direct connection at the boat’s side would do away vith the delays often occurring at the Chriscrhurch railway station waiting for trams 'or the Square. More consideration is wanted there. —I am, etc., IC.M.
