SOUTH ISLAND FLEET GATHERS AT BLENHEIM.
Per Press Association. BLENHEIM, April 3. The South Island air fleet, which is to take part in the Hawke’s Bay, Hawera and Auckland Air Pageants, began to assemble in Blenheim at 1 p.m. to-day, when Miss Aroha Clifford, of Christchurch, put in an appearance in her Avro-Avian N.Z.A.V. She w'as followed twenty minutes later by Flight-Lieutenant Buckley and FlightLieutenant Burrell, of the Wigram Aerodrome, in Air Force Gipsy Moths, while, about two o’clock, Captain J. C. Mercer, with Mr D. G. Grigg, of the Canterbury Aero Club, as passenger, arrived.
After refuelling, the party, who were joined by Miss P. Bennett and Mr F. R. Dix, in one of the Marlborough Club’s Moths, Z.K.A.A.M., will take off for Parorangi, Feilding, wfiere the night will be spent, the party proceeding to-morrow to Hastings.
