TO-DAY’S RECIPE.

AMERICAN FRUIT FUDGE. Ingredients:— Two cupfuls of sugar. One cupful of milk. Two tablespoonfuls of cocoa. Two tablespoonfuls of butter or margarine. One teaspoonful of vanilla extract. Half a cupful each of chopped walnuts and sultanas. A pinch of salt. Put .sugar, cocoa, margarine, salt and milk into saucepan, bring slowily to the boil; let it boil until it forms a soft ball when tested in cold water. Remove from the stove and heat, stirring conthe stove, add sultanas, nuts and vanilla, and the mixture until thick and creamy. Put back on the stove and heat, stirring constantly until melted, then pour into greased tins. When partly cool, cut into neat squares. When quite cold, place in airtight tins.
