WEDDINGS.

CROFT—BRUERE. St John’s Church, Rangiora, was beautifully decorated with arum lilies and brightly coloured daisies for the marriage of Ena, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Graham A. Bruere, Rangiora, to Harry, eldest son of Mr and Mrs G. T. Croft, L-oburn. The service was conducted by the Rev J. F. Feron, and Miss Bailey presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a beautiful model frock of white georgette over white satin. The uneven hem falling into four points was relieved with a trail of white satin flowers falling from the waist and finished at the back with a train of tiny picot-edged Her tulle veil w r as embroidered with white satin true lovers’ knots worn back from her face and finished at the back with a hand-made medallion over 100 years old, lent by Mrs Herron. Her bouquet of lilies and hothouse flowers completed a charming toilette. Three maids were in attendance, Miss Aileen Bruere, sister of the bride, Miss Una Croft, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Jean Douglas, who wore frocks of tangerine, primrose, and resida green georgette. Each frock was fashioned with a sleeveless bodice, the long full skirts falling ankle length in uneven hem appliqued with flowers and ribbon on the front. They wore silk felt hats with drooping brims and satin shoes to match their frocks, and carried bouquets of pastel shaded flowers. Mr Cedric Croft attended his brother as best man.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Northern A. and P. Association hall, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who was wearing a model frock of cedar celanese fashioned with a two-tier skirt and trimmed •with henna and gold stitching. Her hat was of cedar ballibuntl straw and she carried a bouquet of autumn tinted flowers. Miss Doris Bruere, sister of the bride, wore a white and tangerine floral ninon over tangerine crepe de chine with a coloured shoulder spray to match. Her hat was of putty coloured felt and trimmed with motifs of tangerine and gold. The bridegroom’s mother wore a model frock of navy satin trimmed with touches of red and lemon, and with a falling panel from the shoulder. Her hat was of visca straw trimmed with an osprey at the side. # I When Mr and Mrs Croft left for their wedding tour, the bride was wearing a pretty frock of nut brown georgette trimmed with flat gilt buttons and gold thread, under a coat of fine mixed tweed trimmed with fur collar and cuffs and her hat was of brown and orange banana straw.
