New Year Party.
Miss Betty Cotterill, “Blakeney,” Cashmere Hills, gave a delightful party on New Year’s Eve. The guests joined in an exciting “Treasure Hunt,” which was won by Misses Barbara Clayden, Kathleen Bristed, M’llraith and Cotterill, Miss Rossmore Cracroft Wilson, Mr Gavin Turnbull and Air J. D. Coming-of-Age Party. The coming-of-age party of Harry, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. H. Ballinger, Woodend, was held at “ Linga Longa,” Waikuku Beach, on Saturday night. Dancing was enjoyed at the beach hall, after which supper was partaken of in the garage, which was prettily decorated for the occasion. The health of the guest of honour was proposed by Mr R. E.
