FERRY TRAIN TO ARRIVE EARLIER.
RAILWAY ALTERATIONS NEARLY COMPLETED
It is probable that the new arrangement of points and crossings at the Christchurch railway station, to enable the ferry train to reach Christchurch earlier, will be completed in time for the arrival of to-morrow’s train. To allow the alteration to be made, portions of the interlocking and electrical systems have had to be altered. This work was carried out yesterday. It is estimated that the new arrangement will enable the ferry train to arrive in Christchurch about 7.15 a.m., representing a saving in time of from fifteen to thirty minutes daily.
