COMING-OF-AGE.
CongraUilations on attaining his ( majority were showered on Mr S E ( Browne, of Christchurch, at a party ( given in his honour at the residence of his parents, 228, Kilmore Street, last ( Thursday evening. The dining room, j which was prettily decorated with streamers and flowers, had been cleared for dancing, which, with games and musical items, passed the time in pleasant fashion. After the cutting of the cake, which had twenty-one candles for its decoration, the health of the guest of the evening was proposed by Mr C G. Griffin and was drunk with musical honours. His father, Mr W. Browne, then presented him with the golden key. Those present included: Mr and Mrs W. Browne, Mr and Mrs C. Dunford, Mr and Mrs T. Navion, Mr and Mrs C. G. Griffin,- Mrs F. Bla&kmore, Mrs T. Dyer, Misses V. Jeffs, C. Robin son, E. and M. M’Cabe, M. Hart, Messrs T. Naylor, sen., A. Turnbull, J. Beardmore, C. Betts, R. Hart, and B. Blackmore.
