Strawberries Not Affected.
Frosts and the recent heavy rains have not yet affected the supply or condition of the cherries and strawberries coming on to the market. The quantities forwarded now are no less than in the corresponding period of last year, and cherries are in good supply. It was expected that the rains would cause many of the cherries to split, but the proportion so affected apparently was not heavy. The rains have benefited all growers, particularly those with crops of potatoes. Aero Club. Sir Francis Boys presided at a meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Aero Club which was held last night. Six new members were elected, making the total on the roll 059. The Welling” ton Cluo wrote expressing appreciation of the Canterbury Club’s co operation at its recent inaugural pageant. The letter stated that it was anticipated that the proceeds of the pageant would be sufficient to enable Wellington to purchase another aeroplane.
