The Board of Governors of the Christchurch Technical College met last evening; present—Mr M’Gregor Wright (chairman), Mrs M. I. Ball. Messrs W. R. Gahagan, J. W. Graham, G. A. Pascoe, G. Shipley. E. H. Andrews. D. Rowse, B. Seth-Smith, C. S Thompson, T. W. West, W. H. Winsor and G. T. Thurston. SHEARING CLASSES. Dr D. E. Hansen, principal, reported:—“The shearing classes were -reopened for one week after the summer show, and this year we have taught shearing to sixty men, this being the next to the highest number yet enrolled; 6199 sheep were shorn, and of the 180 bales of wool obtained 141 were classed by our woolsorting classes. The value of the latter class is much eri hanced by these supplies of wool direct from our shearing shed, as it gives students the most useful type of practical experience. Owners and stock agents gave us their assistance very freely and willingly to provide sufficient supplies of sheep, and Mr Joyce had a busy time looking after the supplies whilst the classes were in operation.” CA BINETMAKING. The honorary examiners in cabinetmaking reported:—"The drawing section of the woodworking class is very | favourable, notably in the advanced j students, and here are to lie found i some most interesting drawings. These show a wonderful draughtmanship ana ; the examiners highly congratulate the instructor upon the finished drawings The practical class is very favourable in progress as shown by the students in their early years of practical application of woodwork. Special mention is given to a student for a truly wonderful Elizabethan chest. The practical work of the class is highly commendable, the outstanding feature-

being the work of the first-year students, and in the advance work there are two very praiseworthy pieces of furniture. These period examples gave very great pleasure to the examiners in the knowledge that such good exhibits were possible by the students. The instructor is to be congratulated upon the results obtained.” MISCELLANEOUS.
