SALVATION ARMY COLLECTS ABOUT £2OO IN STREET APPEAL.
About £2OO was obtained by the Salvation Army's annual self-denial appeal yesterday. About forty holders _of boxes assisted in the street collection, which finished at about 6 pan. The sum obtained, which was from £ls to £2O greater than that collected last year, will be devoted to the maintenance of the Army's work in New Zea land, and to mission work. Army officers stated last night that the result of the collection was very pleasing.
