AVON CLUB CREWS HAVE FIRST DAY OUT.

The Avon Rowing Club made a start with its 1929-30 season this afternoon, when a quarter-mile dash for scratch fours was staged. As it was the first time out this season for all crews, the rowing was more willing than brilliant. Results were as follows: First heat: Duggan’s crew beat Harvey’s by three-quarters of a length. Second heat: Heatley’s crew beat Woodham’s by a canvas. Third heat: Batchelor’s crew beat Adkins’s by half a length. Semi-finals: Duggan beat Heatley by a yardFinal: Batchelor beat Duggan by a length and a half.
