MINIATURE RIFLES.
CHAMPIONSHIPS WERE BEGUN THIS AFTERNOON. The seventeenth annual rifle championship meeting of the C?i ristohureh Miniature Rifle Association was begun to-day at the association’s rifle range. The offic-ials were as follows:—Target iudges, Messrs Neill, Lightfoot, and Stephens; rnnfee officers, Messrs T. Davie, S. Williams. W. Crossen. and 11. Floek; timekeepers. Messrs A. J. Beaven, F. Emmett and .T. Diack. Two ehamr> ion ships are Toeing contestmen. all memlvrs of the same club. The match is fi ed over a 25yds range at a John Roberts target. The conditions arc: One compulsory sigliter (net to .•mint) on Centre Bull, and eight shots, two shots on each of the other bulls. The second, for the Christchurch Individual Championship, is an open contest. The conditions are: (hie compulsory and eight shots, two shots on each c-ther bull.
