PENINSULA LADIES’ ASSOCIATION.
Owing to the wet weather on Thursday afternoon, the first round of the Peninsula Ladies’ Hockey Association matches was not played. Okiri was to play Akaroa at Akaroa, but the weather was so wet and stormy that all matches were postponed for a week. Ellesmere SUB-ASSOCIATION. The Rev W. G. Hannah presided over a meeting of the Ellesmere Women’s Hockey Sub-Association, held at Leeston. The Xlalvern Sub-Association asked for a match between the winning clubs in the Xlalvern and Ellesmere competitions, and also for matches between the representative teams of each sub-asso-ciation. The former challenge was referred to the winning First Grade team, when decided, and it was resolved to send two representative teams to Xlalvern at the close of the season. The following Selection Committee was elected:—Xlisses Xl’Gregor and Fade, Rev W. G. Hannah and Xlr W. C. Eggelton. Xlr J. Smith was appointed coach. It was decided to endeavour to arrange matches against the Peninsula Sub-Association and the Rangiora Physical Culture Club. A six-a-side tournament was fixed for July 13, and arrangements were left to the Leeston Club. A recommendation was passed that each club should organise a social evening ftr the travelling fund of the representative teams.
