ASHBURTON LADIES’ ASSOCIATION CHOOSES REPRESENTATIVE TEAM. The following team has been selected to represent the Ashburton Association In the first representative match of this season, against South Canterbury, at Timaru, on Saturday. June 29:—Goal, XI. Duff; backs. A. Loach and D. Stubbs; halves, XL Gudsell, K. Bell and M. Tatterson; forwards, J. Burrows, XL Henderson, B. Xlilliehatnp, F. Gudsell and 1. Dalton. Reserves: C. Shannon and XI. Hulme. XIEN’S HOCKEY. Teams selected from men hockey players contested a match at Ashburton on Saturday, when the A team defeated the B team by 3 goals to 2. Considering that men’s hockey has been dormant in Ashburton for some years, the game was up to expectations, and many of those taking part gave promise of developing into really good players with more practice. Mr R. B. Tinsley was referee.
