ARCHDEACON CONCLUDES FIFTY YEARS’ SERVICE.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, December 23. Archdeacon George Macmurray, who on Saturday celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of his ordination as a priest of the Church of England, was the guest of honour at a large social gathering in the evening. On behalf of the clergy, old parishioners and friends generally, Archbishop Averill presented him with two fine etchings of St Mary’s Cathedral (of which he was formerly vicar) and a cheque for two hundred guineas.
