MAGISTRATE’S COURT
CHRISTCHURCH. (Before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M.). DRUNKENNESS. For drunkenness, a statutory first offender was fined £1 and car hire 2s, in default twenty-four hours’ imprisonment. UNLICENSED WIRELESS SETS. For being in possession of unlicensed wireless sets the following were fined: — George Hampshire, 5s and costs; William Tomlinson, 10s and costs. AN UNLICENSED DEALER. For dealing in radio apparatus without being licensed to do so, Arthur Drayton was fined 20s and costs. ON LICENSED PREMISES. For being on the licensed premises of the New Railway Hotel after hours Robert Dodd was fined £2 and costs. Frederick Rabbit was fined £2 and costs for being on the licensed premises of the Wellington Hotel, and Robert John Stevenson was fined 20s and costs. PLAINTIFF SUCCEEDS. (Before Mr H. A. Young, S.M.). Daisy Skilton, spinster, of Christchurch (Mr D. W. Russell) claimed from Fred Farrant, tobacconist, Christchurch, chattels valued at £1 8s 3d. The Magistrate made an order for the return of the goods forthwith.
