ATHLETICS.
CANTERBURY CLUB.
The committee of the Canterbury Amateur Athletic Club met last night. Those present were—Messrs W. C Flewellon (in the chair), A. K. Flower] (J. S. Thomas. Robertson, Cordery, TV' Ford, V. Todd, J, Batestone and M Blackmore. Messrs K. Knight, R. B. Soanes nml if. M. Jacobs were elected members of the club. It was decided to open the season t>> holding an evening meeting at 5.45 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, at English Park. The committee congratulated the club's team on winning the first relßy race of the season; at the New Brighton Club's meeting.
