BRISBANE MEN CALL STRIKE OFF.
VOLUNTEERS FORMING THEIR OWN UNION

There lias been a sudden development in the waterside situation, the strikers having decided by secret ballot to resume work. Meanwhile, over 1000 volunteers are employed on the wharves under police protection. Work is proceeding smoothly at Cairns and Townsville. A large section of the volunteers have resolved to form their own union, and to work under the Be'eby award.—Australian Press Association.
