VESTRY OF ST JOHN’S OBJECTS TO NEW CANON.
At the monthly meeting of the vestry of St John’s Church, Latimer Square, held on Monday, the new canon affecting the appointment of pastors to cures was discussed and the following resolution was passed unanimously : “That this vestry enters its emphatic protest against the canon passed by the last General Synod concerning the appointment of pastors to cures, and requests the Standing Committee to bring the matter before the next Diocesan Synod for consideration, with the object of requesting the General Synod to repeal the canon.”
In accordance with the new canon, Messrs T. J. Bucknell, F. C. Ball and C. D. Sheppard were appointed the parochial nominators.
