FORMER AMBASSADOR TO BRITAIN DIES.
COLONEL HARVEY PASSES AWAY.
(United Press Assn.—By Electrio Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received August 21, 11.30 ajn.) VANCOUVER, August 20. A message from Dublin, New Hampshire, states that Colonel George Harvey, former Ambassador to Great Britain, died to-day from a heart attack.— Australian Press Association.
Colonel Harvey was born in 1864. He commenced life as a reporter on the “ Springfield Republican,” and later joined the staffs of the “ Chicago News” and the “New York World.” From 1891 to 1893 he was managing editor of the “ New York World.” He then became interested in electric railways, but later returned to journalism, purchasing the “ North American Review,” which he edited. He was Ambassador to Great Britain from 1921 to 1923.
