CLARK MEETS REESE IN CHAMPIONSHIP.

The game between T. W. Reese and K. Clark, for the final of the Hagley Golf •Club senior championship, was commenced this morning - , a stiff easterly marring perfect conditions. .' At the end of the morning- round Clark led, 4 up. Tie started well, getting a four at the first hole, Reese putting an approach to lose the hole with a five. The next hole was halved in bogey, Reese saving the hole with a good runup shot, and a good putt, and both dropped a stroke at the next t 0... halve in fives. At the rushes Reese’s second put him in the gullcy and he could not recover to cope with Clark's good four. Clark two up. At the short fifth both were just off the green from the tee, but Reese laid Glark a stymie, and won 3-4. He went clown again at the sixth, striking trouble father unluckily,- while Clark holed a bogey 4. At the short seventh Clark’s lead was cut to one up. when he missed a putt for a three. Had putting lost Reese the eighth and the short ninth, and at the • turn ,Clark was The first three holes on the inward journey were halved, both taking G at the eleventh and 5; at the twelfth, then Reese, -at tlie Oaks, failed, through the fairway and took 6to Clarke’s 4. Reese was not up at To Wharf, and failed bv one .stroke. Clark, holing in bogey 5 Clark duffed his tee shot at ithe fifteenth, and lost 5-4. but went to five up at The Rushes, With the score reversed. The Crater was halved in fours, and-Rebse won the last hole with a putt which went in off his opponent's ball, Clark being 4 up.
