CITY RANGER ACTS IN NEW ROLE AT MAGISTRATE’S COURT

WAS CAUGHT RIDING ON FOOTPATH AT NIGHT WITHOUT A LIGHT. The city ranger, Walter Eugene Thielman, appeared in a new role at the 'Magistrate’s Court this morning, when he was charged with cycling on the footpath and with cycling at night without a light. Thielman admitted both charges, saying that someone let his out and in his excitement he jumped on a bicycle and rode down the street to look for the horse. The Magistrate (Mr E. D. Mosley, S,M.): But a ranger should not get excited. Thielman explained that his horse had been deliberately let out.. He had only ridden a chain on the footpath when he met the constable. . “So that you could impound your own horse, eh?” asked Mr Mosley. On the charge of not having a light, Thielman was convicted and fined 10s and costs, and on the other charge he was convicted and discharged.
