The shipowners are disappointed at the decision of the Arbitration Court in the marine cooks’ case. "It is simply one more week wasted,” declared Mr W. Appleton, chairman of the Huddart, Parker Line. “It is safe to say that no cooks will offer for our vessels. We attempted to obtain cooks for our colliers last Saturday, but not one man applied. The trouble began with the Ulimaroa. on March 2, and now another week has been added to the delay, quite uselessly.”—Australian Press Association.
