POWER STATIONS REPORT GROWING PEAK LOADS.
Special to the “ Star.**) WELLINGTON, May 7. For the week which ended on Sunday last the maximum load on the Mangahao hydro-electric power station was 20.880 K.V.A., occurring between 530 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 28. The number of units generated during the week was 1,845,360. Figures for the previous week were: Maximum load, 20,200 K.V.A.; units output 1,790,670. The latest returns are reported to be the biggest to date. For the purposes of comparison figures for Lake Coleridge and Iloro Hero (Waikato) for •the same period are given. At Coleridge the load was 18.190 ‘Jv.V.A., occurring between 5.30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, April 29, and the tinits output was 1,791,710. The maximum load in the preceding week was 17,360 K.V.A. and the units generated 1,696,725. Iloro Iloro’s peak load was 13.450 K.V.A., occurring between 5.30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, while the number of units generated was 1,714,920. The details for the week which ended on April 25 are not available.
