AMERICAN TEA
An American tea, in aid of the organ repair fund, was held in the St Paul’s (Anglican) schoolroom, Papanui, on Saturday afternoon and evening. The choir was in charge of the proceedings, and a satisfactory sum was raised. Following were the stall-holders: Tea room, Alesdames Church and Eggleston; cake stall. Mrs Noall, Miss Dean; bran tub, Airs Olsen; Christmas tree, Airs Rodie, Miss Litten and Aliss Brightmore; needlework, Alisses Wood (2) and Butt; ice cream, Alisses Hill and Al’Kay; book stall, Miss Hodson, Miss Webb and Aliss Seabrook; variety stall, Airs Simes; produce stall, Aliases Nicholls and Miller; sweet stall, Alisses Funnell ar.d Miss Hopkins; soft drinks and sideshows, choir boys. Air W. A. Foster was secretary. In the evening the following programme was given; Piano solo, Aliss Johnstone; sqngs, Aliss Miller, Mr Sedman„ Aliss King and Miss Brightmore; duet, Alisses Hill and Aliller.
