In the House of Commons, in moving the continuance of the emergency regulations for a month. Sir W. Joynson Hicks said he hoped it -would be possible to revoke them in a fortnight. Meantime the chief constable.-* vould not ban meetings. If a ban were necessary it would be the Home Secretary's responsibility. Labourite members appealed to the Ministry instantly to withdraw the re gulations as a graceful gesture. The debate was adjourned.
