BAD RADIO CONCERTS; DETECTOR REPLIES.
To the Editor. Sir, —I have neither the inclination nor time to pursue this controversy further, so this will l>e my parting shot. In reply to “One of the Common Herd,’’ “ Broad-minded,” and “ Sport,” I must reiterate that in my opinion and in that of many others also, last Sunday night’s broadcast concert was decidedly unsuitable for broadcasting. “Broad-minded” says: " ‘ Detector ’ also thinks in his own wee mind that it is a waste of good money to build a Nurses’ Memorial Chapel." “ Broad-minded ” appears to have mental talents above the average, for he can read into words meanings that are not there. What I said in my last letter in reply to “ A Patron ” was that the “ Nurses’ Memorial Chape. Fund was hardly a ‘ charity,’ ” the term he had used to describe it.
“ Sport ” takes up the cudgels on behalf of 3YA artists. I admit that they do their best, but with many it is a very poor best. 1 grant hitn that they try to entertain, but if they fail to entertain it were better that they did not trv.—l am. etc., DETECTOR.
