COMING-OF-AGE DANCE
In honour of the coming-of-age of their daughter, Doris, Mr and Mrs 11. T. Gray, of Mackenzie Avenue, North Opawa, recently gave a carnival dance in the Leyden Street Ilall. The guest of honour wore a becoming frock of turquoise-blue crepe de chine, the bodice of which had an overdress of silver lace, the skirt being trimmed with godets. The hall was decorated with blue and silver streamers and balloons. The music was supplied by Mrs E. A. Smith's orchestra. The lucky spot one-step was won by Miss D. and partner, and the musical arms by Miss E. Taylor. During intervals the following items were contributed: Miss J. Ewart, song: Miss G. M'Callum. recitation: Air C. Harrawav, song. Mr Ivan Gray acted as M.C. During the evening paper hats, speakers and streamers were distributed for the novelty dances. A dainty supper was served, the feature being the twotier birthday cake, which was decorated with twenty-one tiny pink candles. Miss Gray was the recipient of many gifts. The evening closed with the singing of ‘‘Auld Lang Syne.”
