WEDDINGS.

FLETCHER—KIRK. A very pretty wedding took place recently at the residence of Mr and Mrs W. .T. Fletcher, 15, Wyon Street, Linwood, when Miss Alva Inglis Kirk, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Kirk, of SS, Poulson Street. Addington, was married to John Arnold Colin Fletcher, only son of Mr and Mrs W. J. Fletcher, 15, Wyon Street., Linwood. The ceremony took place at 6.30 p.m. and was conducted by the Rev A. W. Stuart, of Linwood. The bride looked charming in a frock of green and cinnamon shot taffetas made on simple lines and trimmed with diamente trimmings. A charming head-dress of diamente brilliants and a bouquet of spring flowers completed the toilet. The bride, who was given away by Mr A. E. Clark, of 9, Olliver's Road, Linwood, was attended by Miss Ismay Read as bridesmaid, and Miss Joyce Clark as flower girl. The bridesmaid’s j frock was of flame velvet, and was also made on simple lines, and was trimmed with a rose flower and streamers, which hung from the shoulders. She wore a band of pearls on her hair, and carried a bouquet of spring flowers. The flower girl wore a crochet silk dress of shell pink, and a wreath of roses in her hair to tone, and carried a basket of spring flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Janies Lepper as best man, and Master Rav Huband as page boy. After the ceremony the bride was presented with a beautiful silver horse shoe by the flower girl. A reception was held later at the Leyden Street Hall, where the bride was presented with a satin horse shoe by Master Norman Robb. Mrs W. J. Fletcher received her guests wearing a charming model frock of nigger brown jersey silk and hat to tone. Mrs C. Iluband, the bridegroom's eldest sister, wore a tailored costume of nigger brown. Mrs A. E. Clark, the bridegroom's yougest sister, wore a tailored costume of leaf brown. The tables were beautifully decorated by Mrs Robb, Mrs Fuller, Mrs Smith and Mrs Parr. About 100 guests sat down to the wedding breakfast, where the usual toasts were honoured. Musical items, games and dancing were indulged in. The singing of "Auld Lang Syne” brought a very happy function to a close. ORR—BENFELL. St Chad’s Church, Linwood. was the scene of a wedding recently, when Wilhelmina Edith, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Benfeli, of Avonside, was married to Leslie James, only son of Mr and Mrs J. Orr, of Linwood. The Rev’ E. E. Malden officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a becoming frock of ivory crepe de chine carried out on straight lines and trimmed with orange blossom. Her tulle veil, embroidered in true lovers knots, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom and her shower bouquet was of lily of the valley, roses and maidenhair fern. Misses L. and Y. Benfeli, sisters of the bride, attended as bridesmaids and wore dainty frocks of mauve crepe de chine and hats to tone. They carried mauve and pink shower bouquets. Air W. Benfeli, brother cl' the bride, was' best man and Mr J. Seymour was groomsman.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the Rolleston Street Hall, Linwood. Airs Benfeli received her guests wearing a pretty frock of navy blue trimmed with brown, with hat to match.
