COLLEGE HOUSE DIPLOMA IN PASTORAL THEOLOGY.
The subjects for the College JlotiSe Diploma in Pastoral Theology were announced yesterday. They arc as follow: Section A.—The Priest as Prophet. The Teaching Office of the Church. Section B.—The Priest as Counsellor. Moral Theology. Section C.—The Priest in tho Temple. The Worship of -the Church. Section D.—The Priest in the Parish. The Science of Pastoral Theology. Section E.—The Priest in the Forum. Voice Production and Reading. Section F.—Two essays (each of about 2500 words) on the following subjects: (a.) “God was in Christ Reconciling the World unto I-limself”; (b) Foreign Missions. An examination in Section A (including a paper dealing with the personal life of the teacher) will be held in the first week of March next year. For this section the syllabus recommends the following books for study:—Lectures on Preaching and Sermon Construction (Bull): Lectures on Preaching (Phillips Brooks); Preparation and Delivery of Sermons (Rroadus); Report of the Archbishop's Committee on the Teaching Office of the Church; My Priesthood (Carey), The Personal Life of the Clergy (Robinson); Speculum Sacerdotum (Xewbolt).
