Cable Association. j LONDON, June 23. | The King gave an audience to Captain Swabey on the eve of his sailing to take over the command of the New Zealand stationi An Admiralty announcement referred Ito Captain Swabey*s appointment as follows: j Captain George T. C. P. Swabey, iD. 5.0., to be lent to the Government of New Zealand, as Commodore, Second Class, for duty as ’ First Naval j Member of the Royal New Zealand j Naval Board, and as Commodore, in command, of the Royal New Zealand j Naval Station, in succession to Con:j modore Alistcr F. Beal, C.M.G., to date j from date of sailing. Captain Swabey I is due to arrive in New Zealand to j relieve Commodore Beal about August The new Commodore of the New Zealand Naval Station has been Captain of the Koval Naval College. Greenwich, since October, 1921. In (he late war he rendered valuable service to the Army as Naval Observation Officer j during the Gallipoli operations, and i was awarded the D.S.O. He was also [ mentioned for distinguished and gal I iant services in Gallipoli during the J period of General Sir Charles Monro s | command.
