ST PATRICK’S SPORTS ASSOCIATION MEETS.

The St Patrick’s Sports Association met last night, Mr B. J. Al’Kenna presiding. Reporting on the sports meeting held in March, the chairman said that the result was very satisfactory, and the position of the association was much clearer than it had been for the last three or four years. Tie thanked the officials for the manner in which they had worked and said that there was no doubt, that a good sports meeting could be run with a small number of officials. The meeting was more successful in any previous year and there was excellent sport. The thanks of the association were due to the athletes of Canterbury. The support given by the various business people was also very much appreciated. Recently a smoke concert was held by the Amateur Athletic Association, and this did much to cement the good feeling between the athletic bodies of the city. Letters were received from Alessrs John Dwyer and TV. Nidd accepting office as vice-president. A motion of sympathy with Air J. Coffey in his illness was passed. A statement of the financial position was made by the secretary (Mr M’ A leer). Tie said that the cash in the bank and in hand amounted to £96 19s.
