PASSED AWAY IN HIS ARMCHAIR.

OLD WATERSIDER FOUND DEAD IN BACH.

A watersider named Harry Olsen, a Norwegian, about seventy-three years of age, was found dead at his bach in London Street, Lyttelton, this morning. He was last seen alive on Sunday morning. This morning his grandson went to visit him to see how he was getting on, as he had been suffering from chronic bronchitis.

The lad, Patrick Gallivan, found Olsen dead. The police stated that deceased appeared to have died in his sleep, about Sunday afternoon. He was sitting in an armchair, stretched out as if he had fallen asleep. Beside him on the table was an open book, on which rested a pair of spectacles, and there was an oil-lamp which apparently had not been lit. No inquest will be necessary, as a medical certificate will be given. Olsen leaves a grown-up famil3 r .
