BRITISH COLUMBIA WILL BENEFIT MOST. (Special to (he “ Star.”)
VICTORIA (British Columbia), October 10.-It is considered locally that British Columbia, owing to its geographical advantages, will be the principal the r recent Australian trade treaty. The fisheries, canneries, pulp and paper industries will be the first to be favourably affected, fanners are looking to Australia for the purchase of at least an additional £IOO,OOO in canned salmon. Paper mills arc preparing to supply practically the entire requirements'of Australia and New Zealand in the. matter of newsprint, and tentative arrangements are being made for the erection of new mills.
