THE TOWER OF EABEI.
BY SINBAP. The Yanks, the all-conquering Yanks, are not to be reckoned an cranks. The Yank is a man of infinite plan, although lie incessantly swanks. And hence all authorities say the Yank’s native land, U.S.A., throughout the whole sphere, is quite without peer, in marvellous gadgets to-day. Worldwide with a single accord, the folk her inventions applaud, and envy in vain -to make this quite plain, I've only to mention the Ford. Of railroads Americans talk, and plants for the packing of pork, but I think that far more wonderfur are, the skyscrapers huge in New lurk. Their outlines the landcape do mar, and blot out both sunlight and star, and lately a man has thought out a plan, to push ’em up higher by far. And if such a building should grow, then up in the lift we will go, past floor upon floor, and door upon door, for eighty-eight stories or so. Oh, guys of efficiency land, I’m raising in caution my hand, take warning, rash men, from what happened when the great tower of Babel was planned.
