CALLS FOR BRIGADE.
TWO IN AN HOUR. "Within an hour this morning there were two calls for the services of the Fire Brigade. At 8.30 they went to Euston Street. where a hedge had caught alight ; the fire was extinguised before any damage had been caused. Hedge fires have been frequent in the last few days, and many appear to have been the result of carelessness. OUTBREAK IN DWELLING. The brigade was summoned to 39. Clarepdon Terrace, Woojston, at 9.27 to deal .with an outbreak which origi nated iq a cupboard at the side of the kitchen range. Apparently it was caused by a defective c.hjmney Slight damage was done to the cupboard and the kitchen ceiling. The house, which w-as owned and occupied by Mrs E Round, was insured for £<3oo in the State Office, and the contents were covered by a policy of £2OO, also in the State Office.
