TAXABLE RESOURCES MUST BE EXPLOITED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received December 8, 9.50 am) MELBOURNE, December 8. Dr Earle Page informed a deputation of Tasmanian politicians that the Commonwealth was already contributing 16 per cent of Tasmania’s total revenue, as against 7 per cqnt of the total revenue of New- South Wales.
Before the Commonwealth could increase the present contribution of £85,000 to £200.000, Tasmania must exploit her taxable resources and then submit a further statement to the Commonwealth.
