The Paris correspondent of the “Times” says that France’s war scars will soon be obliterated, as the restoration of the devastated regions is nearing completion. Already , in four areas, 20,000 out- of -22,900 factories destroyed or damaged by the Germans have been reconstructed, and 2912 thousand hectares of land have been restored to cultivation, representing 88 per cent of the devastated agricultural districts. In addition. 598,000 houses have been repaired. There remain 143,000 to be rebuilt, but the normal population of the liberated regions has already been restored.
