ILL-FATED WAIKINO SCHOOL.
BOY BURNED IN ASHES. I’fr Press Association'. WELLINGTON, October 29. A sequel to the destruction of the Waikino Sehoolhouse last Wednesday was furnished yesterday, when a school lad named Stapleton had his foot and legs badly burned. He leapt from the remains of the coal shed on to a heap * f seemingly harmless grey ashes, whets his bare feet sank into about a fool of live coals. A photographer named Davis carried tli© sufferer on bis back for a. mile, end later the boy was admitted to the Wailii hospital.
