THE WARRNAMBOOL RACE.
BIG CYCLING FIXTURE. The Warrnambooi to Melbourne cycle road race, which is being held to-day. im run over a course of 165 miles. The r&od, which prior to 3931 was an annual event was discontinued that year, but was revived last year. The team which represented New Zealand in 1922 was very successful. securing first and fifth places and also fastest time. Previous winners of the race are as follow :
TBe first prize is an Indian Scout motorcycle, the TTarmambool Cup valued at £3O and a gold medal valued at £5 ss. AiiPtralaman Championship Bine Riband and Ba'djre and yold medal valued at £5 59 to rider establishing fastest Fastest time (not winning first prize) £53 in cash. In a-ddition there are fourteen other special prises and medals donated by Australian sportsmen. The result should be received in Christchurch this evening. Ifc it is received it will anpear in the Sport 3 Edition of the “ Star.”
