RUSSELL DIVORCE.
APPEAL TO HOUSE OF LORDS. COMPLICATED CASE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Reuter's Telegrams. (Received October 26. 10.30 a.m.) LONDON. October 25. Mrs Russell has presented an appeal t-o the House of Lords against the divorce decision in favour of her husband. the Hon John Russell, who is son and heir to Lord Ampthill. The husband has been ordered to furnish a reply before December 4. It is unlikely that the House o£ Lords will hear the case before 1924. The Russell divorce case, which is said to have cost the parties more than any case on record, impoverishing Lord Ampthill, ended with the granting of a. divorce on the ground of Mrs Russell's misconduct with some person unknown. Her appeal was dismissed in a long judgment, which was very interesting in this respect, that it indicated that the ground on which the decree was granted might not be invoked to challenge the succession of Mrs Russell's child to the Ampthill title-
