She came down on only three boiler?, the fourth, whioh was leaking, being repaired no the journey. The had coal being used was also responsible for the delay. T , The liner lonic, which arrived at Lyt Lelton yesterday, commenced the unloading of cargo from London and Southampton. The Tees vm* expected to leave Greymouth for Wellington yesterday, coming thence to Lyttelton, where she is due on Sunday. A number of purebred cattle and sheep have lieen brought to New Zealand during the last few months, and other shipments arc* on the way. The Hauraki, which arrived at. Auckland from San Francisco, brought, a valuable purebred Jersey bull for that port. The Anchor Company's steamer Ngaio is to withdraw at Nelson on Monday next for one trip, and her run will be taken over by the Kaitoa. leaving Nelson at the usual hour for Wellington. The Ngaio resumes the Wellington-Nelson ferry service, sailing from Nelson on October 31. The Wootton returns on Sunday from Wellington, and sails on the return trip on Monday. The Wingatui sailed for Auckland, via Wellington, last evening, and is due to return within a. week. The Waimarino. which arrived last night, in the stream, and took up her berth this morning, will discharge her full cargo of Newcastle coal, and will sail on the return on Tuesday. The Waihemo. from Sail Francisco, arrived at Apia on Sunday, and left, there on Wednesday in continuation of her voyage to Napier. Wellington. Lyttelton and New Plymouth. She iB duo at this port on November 15. The Opihi arrived to-day from Timaru. and will sail later for Napier and New Plymouth, via Wellington. The Kamo is expected to arrive to-mor-row to load for Wellington, Greymouth and Westport. On Sunday, the Atnn will arrive from the south, and will load for Auckland and Wellington. arrivals. She will "leave for Timaru. Oamaru. Dunedin and BlufT on Saturday. The Port Victor sailed from Liverpool on October 23 with cargo for Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Port Denison, en route from London. left Colon on October 22 for Suva, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at Lyttelton about November 21. The British Imperial Oil Company's steamer Harve sailed from Singapore on October 2 with a cargo of oil for New Zealand. | October 31. The C. and D. Line steamer Port Napier, which has been loading at Wanganui, is due at Wellington to-day. The vessel will leave there on Monday evening for Gisborne and Auckland to complete her cargo, and is to sail from Auckland on November 4 for London, via Las Palmas. The liner Piako, which has been completing a.t Auckland, is to sail from there to-day for New York, Boston, London and West of Kngland ports. FOREST HOME BOUGHT. The American four-masted schooner Forest Home, now Iving at Wanganui hae been purchased by S. Holm and Co.' Wanganui, whoso green funnel steamers, John, Uolmdaio and Progress are well-known in the South Island—Wanganui trade. The schooner, it will be remembered, has been . the subject of considerable litigation. She was built in 1900 by H. JC. Hockendorff at Marshfield, Orange, U.S.A.. and her registered tonnage is 7 *l3. Her dimensions are: lengths 17 3.4 feet, beam 40.0 feet, : depth 15.2 feet. Unofficial information is to the effect that she. was acquired by her new owners at a very low figure. Holm and Co.’s intentions in regard to the Forest Home are not yet announced, j H. K. HALL FOR DOCKING. j Forty-three days out. from Raratonga, the five-masted schooner H. K. Hall was | towed into Sydney on October 17 by the tug Heroic and anchored in Rose i Bay. The present visit of the H. K. UNDER A NEW FLAG. Recent advices from America brought nows that several German sailing vessels. well known in Australia, have changed hands, and will in future fly the Chilian flag. The vessels are the Albertus Vinnen, Claus, Isbock, Potosl and Olivia. The four firstnamed have been acquired by Gonzales I and .Sofha. of Valparaiso, while the Olivia la now the property of Duran and Co.
