ESTIMATES FOE THE TEAK. A special meeting: of the Christchurch Drainage Hoard was held last night to consider the estimates for the coming year. There were present—Messrs Walter J. Hill (chairman), H. J. Otley, S. A. Staples, W. J. Walter, H. Holland, A. T. Smith, F. Burgoyne, C. Hill, H. C. Livingstone anti 0. H. W. Anderson. The items authorised totalled £45.590. Allowing for estimated credits £5489, and excesses at March 31, 1923, £8551, the total requirements amounted to £31,550. Of the total requirements, the responsibilities were allotted as follows:—Sewerage area £27,190, rural Christchurch £321, rural Woolston £345, rural New' Brighton £l2O, rural Spreydon £l9l, rural Avon J&1194,_, rural Heathcote £573, rural Kiccarton £1613.
