THE NEW ZEALAND LOAN.
LONDON COMMENT. Mr Telegraph— Pres* Association—Copyright j Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received May 9, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, May 8. The ‘‘ Daily Chronicle,” commenting on the New Zealand loan, says:—“ New Zealand stocks have always been favourites with investors, owing to her excellent sinking fund arrangements. One million of the new issue is going towards the redemption of £2,500,000 of debentures coming due in August. ( onsidcrable amounts of the remainder will be spent on contracts in Britain lor materials.” The ” Morning Post ” welcomes as a distinctly good feature the detailed information relating to the Dominion’s financial position given in the prospectus. The ‘ Financial Times” says:—“The New Zealand loan was underwritten with the promptitude associated with all such issues, but gentle protests at the apparently high price which the colony asks for the new stock. As a trustee investment stock, the loan may be recommended with confidence.”
