Earl Haig, as president of the Rifle Association, has induced the King to icvive the King’s Medal at Bislev in July for the best shot in the Army, which Queen Victoria instituted in 1869. but discontinued as the Array was distributed over the world. Earl Haig proposed that six medals should be given annually for Home, Indian, Australian. Canadian. New Zealrnd and South African armies-. 'He proposes battle firing conditions, to be devised by the General Staff. British entries will be limited to one hundred, half representing the Army and half the Territorials.
