'The Messageries Maritimes Company ha-: so reorganised its Australia and Pacific service that in future its vessels coining to Australia will not extend their voyages to Noumea, while the new service from France to New Caledonia will be carried, on via the Panama Canal, the vessels calling at Papeete, "Wellington and Westport. The first vessel of the new service, the El Kantara. sailed from Dunkirk on April 22. A steamer will sail every six weeks from Dunkirk, and will replace the former service to Australian ports.
