A remarkable incident was recorded during the voyage of the steamer Diogenes. Mr Herbert Gilson, a South African poet, who was discharged from the Army totally blind, joined the vessel at Durban tor the purpose of consulting specialist in England. He became ill and lay unoonscious for several days. Upon his recovery his sight was completely restored.
